The issue with traditional artificial grass.
For decades, traditional artificial turf has relied on a black latex backing. The issue is that latex degrades over time and is not recyclable, limiting its sustainability. It also isn’t naturally permeable, so drainage holes must be punched into the backing. These openings can easily become blocked by sand or debris, restricting drainage, a major drawback for pet friendly areas.
