THE BRIEF:

The New Brighton Village Green was created to bring life back into the heart of the community – a welcoming space where people could pause, relax and gather. The site needed to support everyday use as well as small events, markets and pop-up businesses. Natural grass, however, would struggle under constant foot traffic and require significant upkeep to stay presentable year-round.

SOLUTION:

We installed 400m² of Hero 30mm turf, creating a soft, durable green space that stays tidy and usable in all seasons. The surface uses Envirofill, New Zealand’s first antibacterial turf infill technology, delivering a comfortable, clean and reliable surface for relaxing, playing and socialising – even after wet weather.

BENEFITS:

The Village Green is now a lively hub used throughout the day by locals, families and visitors. Children play freely, people gather for lunch, and the space regularly hosts pop-up

vendors and community activations. Most importantly, it provides the council with a dependable surface that looks maintained year-round – without the mowing, repairs and closures associated with natural grass.
