LIFESTYLE LAWNS

Aftercare Maintenance Guide

To get the very most out of your synthetic grass there is some maintenance required.
Here are some steps you can follow to keep your Lifestyle Lawn looking fantastic year-round.

Brush: Organic matter can build up on your lawn and encourage weed growth, so it is important to remove on a regular basis. To do this, we recommend using a turf rake, stiff broom or a leaf blower. The frequency of this task would depend on your gardens surrounding environment and the current season.

Water: Our CoolTouch™ feature means that we’ve added solar absorbent materials to the yarns in the early stages of manufacturing. This allows the yarn to reflect light and heat maximising our UV protection guarantee. We have tested our product against other artificial grasses in New Zealand and our grass has a guaranteed reduced heat, but we know that it can still get hot no matter how many materials we add, so on really hot days we would suggest adding a light spray of water before use. A light spray of water can reduce the overall temperature before use.

Stains: The first rule when dealing with stains is to act fast. This is because you’ll find it much easier to deal with a stain before it has dried or hardened.

Artificial Grass has very good resistance to staining but you do need to be careful about what products you use on the artificial grass. If your stain has hardened, we recommend you remove it first with either a plastic knife or spatula, being careful not to damage the fibres or pull too hard on them. For fresh spills, the first thing to do is soak up as much of the liquid as possible.

We recommend using a washing liquid or household detergent. This can be mixed with warm water and applied to the artificial grass using a sponge or brush. If using a brush, always ensure if has synthetic fibres as metal or wire will damage the grass. You can then thoroughly rinse the affected area with a garden hose.

Dog Urine: The LEISURE Series has an antibacterial feature which prevents the growth of bacteria. These materials inhibit the growth of bacteria and mould. They also prevent odours, making our grass very safe and comfortable for pets and children.

We know that the grass is protected but the urine can reach the base/infill and the odour can be present within
this substance, to help with this we have our New Zealand exclusive Envirofill product which is the only pet-friendly turf infill that combats odors while maintaining longevity.
Dog urine flushes through the artificial grass’ drainage holes and then through the drainage system when it is hosed off or when it rains. The solid waste is cleaned up the same way as natural grass.

Heavy items: Lifestyle Lawns artificial grass is made to perform in all outdoor situations. If you require grass to suit a high traffic, busy area, we recommend you contact us and we can find a suitable product.
